An exciting opportunity to apply for a newly created freelance role with Partners in Creative Learning.
Two-year freelance contract ending September 2026. Fee £13,500 per annum, paid in instalments. 54 delivery days per annum.
Partners in Creative Learning (PiCL) design and deliver creative learning projects in schools and communities, in classrooms and public spaces, community venues or pop-up shops and online. With 13 years of experience, we design innovative projects and work that use creativity, culture and art to make a positive change and communicate messages. Our mission is to facilitate learning with all that we work with, using creative tools and techniques and exciting and fresh collaborations.
PiCL currently operates as a team of four people that consists of a Finance and Operations Manager, Finance Administrator, Programme Director and Programme Co-Ordinator. The team are pro-actively supported by the Board.
Stoke Cultural Education Partnership
PiCL and Stoke-on-Trent Cultural Education Partnership have worked together since its inception, supporting the strategic partnership and co-delivering programmes, such as Loving Learning Through Creativity. Stoke CEP is a voluntary collective of creative organisations, artists and educators who have worked together to further
and improve the creative education offer within the city. Through sector and youth consultation we have developed and delivered programmes with multiple partners and stakeholders that have focused on youth leadership, creative careers, teacher CPD, and developing a creative passport for young people in the city.
In April 2023 PiCL and Stoke Cultural Education Partnership merged and joined the Arts Council England National Portfolio, from 2023-2026, with the organisation restructuring to meet the needs of the organisation, which includes delivering the NPO programme and Appetite activity.
CASCADE
Funded by significant initial investment from Arts Council England and complemented by further financial input from the government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, the CASCADE initiative spans three years as the first phase of an emerging ten-year strategic plan. CASCADE launched in Autumn 2023.
The project’s aim is to nurture a skilled, connected, and sustainable arts sector that reaches and represents underrepresented communities, enhancing digital skills and increasing sector sustainability.
Four arts organisations are co-creating four ‘Cultural Action Zones’ (CAZs) across three high streets and one zone specifically designed for and with children and young people. The key purpose of each CAZ is to revitalise and transform the arts ecology in specific high-street areas and for targeted community groups. Each zone will have a unique theme and set of offerings, with insights and learnings shared and extended in subsequent phases – ‘cascaded’.
Through a proactive and innovative approach, the successful candidate will lead on the delivery of PiCL’s Future Heritage (CASCADE) project.
This role will require you to undertake a DBS check.
