Sandford Hill Art Manifesto - Creative Freedom update

Art Manifesto

By the pupils of Sandford Hill Primary & Jenni Spangler

ART IS FOR EVERYONE

Everyone is an artist and everyone can make art.  It doesn’t matter how old you are.  It’s not about being good or bad.  We support each other when we make art, and share our skills.

ART IS IMPORTANT

It is a place to express our feelings and share our ideas. It’s a way for us to learn and experience new things. Art makes people think. It helps us to understand each other.

ART IS GOOD FOR YOU

Making art can be fun and relaxing. Art makes people happy. Art makes people think. Art helps people to be themselves.

ART IS MESSY

We need the chance to get our hands dirty and make a mess.  We need to create without worrying about getting it wrong.  Mistakes and accidents are part of making art. Art doesn’t have to be perfect to be worthwhile.

ART IS WORK

We work really hard to make our art. We need lots of practice and we are learning a lot. We keep trying when things get tricky. Working on art stretches our imagination and skills.
